 The Book Thief has been on the New York Times Bestseller list for over eight years, and with a movie adaptation coming out this fall, author Markus Zusak is in high demand  – and he is coming to our neighborhood this week as part of Pilgrim School’s Visiting Writers Program.
Zusak’s story about a young German girl who steals books to read and share with others during the height of WWII has been a favorite in the young adult fiction department but has also engaged many an adult reader for its eloquent telling of hope in a horrific period of history. This free family program at Pilgrim School will include a Question & Answer program with the author as well as time for book signing. Copies of Zusak’s books, including I Am The Messenger and The Book Thief will be available for purchase by Chevalier’s Books on Larchmont. If you prefer, Chevalier’s has copies available now and you can get your copy in advance at the store.
