Eater LA came out with a list of 31 best places to dine al fresco in Los Angeles, and a good third of them are within a few minutes of our Larchmont Village neighborhood. With the long afternoons and balmy evenings of our LA autumn still with us for another month, it’s a great list to scan before making your dining-out plans.
The Eater LA list (map included) of great patio dining spots includes Cafe Gratitude on Larchmont, the new Rao’s on Seward, Goldie’s and Little Next Door on Third, the Sycamore Kitchen on La Brea, Dominick’s on Beverly, Sadie Kitchen and Food and Vine in Hollywood, and Ray’s at LACMA. We recently tried the back patio at  Chosun Galbee, the Korean barbecue spot on Olympic at Manhattan Place that also made the list, and did indeed find the food (rated some of the best in LA’s Koreatown) tasted even better set in the calming back patio, away from the hub-bub of Olympic Boulevard traffic.
Of course, Larchmont Boulevard with it’s rows of sidewalk tables, could have been included on the Eater LA list, since much of the west side of the street these days is one long al fresco experience. While some may complain it crowds the Village, we rather like the people-watching and interaction with passers-by that occurs on Larchmont, making it truly a “dining out” experience.
