The medians on North Larchmont Boulevard are starting to look good! Trees were planted a few weeks ago and plants are being put in this week – adding color, depth and texture to this section of the Boulevard.

20140613_071542This North Larchmont Median Project (known as Phase II – the medians along the southern end of Larchmont Boulevard, installed more than 10 years ago, being Phase I) was championed by CD4 Councilmember Tom LaBonge and his former Chief of Staff Carolyn Ramsay. Design and construction were handled by the Bureau of Street Services.

The project was awarded grant funds as a part of the 2009 Metro Call for Projects. Community groups also contributed funding, including the Windsor Square-Hancock Park Historical Society, the Windsor Square Association, and the Hancock Park Garden Club.

Mary has lived in the Hancock Park area for over 20 years - including homes in Larchmont Village and Windsor Square. Mary has lived in some great places in her life - but none compare to the convenience and majesty of our neighborhood. For Mary, the neighborhood has been a wonderful home to her large, extended family...at one time she had family members living on seven different Hancock Park area blocks! Larchmont Buzz is a labor of love - built to celebrate the neighborhood and to elevate the conversation in the area.

  1. It’s been a long time coming. Larchmont north of Beverly can transform itself into a walking/shopping/dining/learning street. This median creates a softer look and invites people to the area. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this.
