Everyone is buzzing about the team of local dads, the Wilshire Leisure Suits, winning their league championship. The team plays out of Pan Pacific Park as part of the City of LA Department of Recreation and Parks.

Here’s the scoop from team member Michael Mahon:

It would be an understatement to say the Wilshire Leisure Suits started the season off slowly. In fact we were in last place for most of the season. But then an amazing thing happened: we kicked into gear. Mathematically, it was a tough road for us to have a chance to still get to the play-offs since we needed to beat the league’s best team (the Gremlins). And we did! A 24 – 8 win put us in 3rd seed going into the final week of play. We went on to beat the 2nd seed (Exquisite Surfaces) and in  the second game of the doubleheader – against those top seeded Gremlins –  we won the championship, 22-9. Turns out the old guys had some new tricks after all!

Congratulations!
